I Saw a Torch

I saw a torch and it was the Lord

saying, "Take my hand and 

put down your swords.

I'll take you down off of your throne

and teach you all the things I know."

but I replied that I was wild

and I would not be coming home.

Why is my artwork all about me? Yes, it stems from my own personal experience, but there are so many people with far better stories to tell that are more refined in their methods. I guess that's just total self-doubt, but as far as "SamSam and His Superfriends" goes, it's a totally conceited microcosm that is all about Me.
The gallery idea of "Welcome to SamSamland" is warranted in its complete concept, but if my manifesto includes the importance of community and not vaccum, this should be a more communal experience.
However, I am trying to document through this project a serious transition and freeing that I have found in my life. It is an event worth documenting and it should be done alongside the people that got me through it.
I seriously have some of the most skilled friends and cannot wait to write songs and make advertisements and clothes and paintings and films and delicious meals with them.
You're invited.

Protanomaly

Everything's so green

At least, that's what it looks to me

My eyes must need to see

these things so despondently.

The purples and the blues

become interchanging hues

It seems nothing that I knew was ever

what it seemed to be.

I need that red, it bridges

Gaps and filters my incorrect lens

Justifies the present tense

I need red more vast than sea.
